Puma is an international sporting apparel and lifestyle goods manufacturer, originally based in Germany. Famous for their football footwear and iconic, Puma trainers, the company is among one of the world’s foremost makers of athletic apparel.
Until the mid-twentieth century, Puma existed under the guidance of two brothers – also the company’s owners. In 1948, following a series of difficulties, they decided to go their separate ways. One stayed, guiding Puma to the successful position it enjoys today, and the other went on to start his own company, a sportswear manufacturer that remains one of Puma’s biggest rivals.
