Onitsuka Tiger is one of the oldest shoe companies in Japan, formed in 1949 by a former militiary officer, the first shoe produced was a basketball shoe in 1952 which soon became popular throughout Japan.

Working with Marathon runner Tooru Terasaw in 1953 they developed a running shoe that would keep long distance runners from developing blisters and in 1957 legendary Ethiopian runner Abebe Bikila started wearing Onitsuka Tiger shoes , it was the first time in his running career he had ever worn shoes.

Today the Onitsuka Tiger range contains many vintage styles aswell as ne models , the most famous vintage being the Mexico 66 which is available now in many variations from soft leather, canvas and even perforated mesh, other styles include the California 79, Ultimate 81 and the Limberup Moscow.
