Rudolph (Rudi) and Adolf (Adi) Dassler worked together in the 1920’s in germany to produce shoes under the ‘Dassler’ brand , after a fall out between the two brothers Rudi started the "Puma" brand in 1948 while adi went his separate way with the Adidas brand
Puma shoes are now in high demand , One of the most popular styles of Puma to date is the Roma, launched in 1970 in celebration of the Rome Olympics , the style has made many comebacks over the years and still remains popular today, other puma classics include the Puma G villas , and California firm favourites on the uk terraces throughout the 80s and now very collectable, others such as as Puma States, Puma Basket, Puma Clyde , Puma Easy Rider and Puma Argentinas originally launched in the 1980’s are still sought after today.
The company has also been successful in expanding into niche markets like motor sports shoes, apparel and accessories .
The Lacoste brand, with the infamous crocodile logo, arose in 1927 after French tennis champion and Davis Cup winner, René Lacoste, made a bet with his team captain. Lacoste was promised a crocodile-skin suitcase if he won an important match. His friend, Robert George, then designed the famous crocodile which was embroidered onto Lacoste’s blazer which he wore on the courts. Decades later, the famous crocodile logo can be seen on a wide range of Lacoste goods and footwear. From classic shoes to high-technology trainers and classic styles such as the Lacoste Camden, Lacoste Carnaby , Lacoste Observe and Convect, the miniature crocodile graces them all.
